Storage Longford Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by Storage Longford to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business operations and supply chains. Storage Longford recognises that modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our relationships and to implementing robust systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery does not occur in any part of our business.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Storage Longford has a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, child labour, human trafficking, servitude and debt bondage. This applies to our own operations, to anyone working on our behalf, and to our entire supply chain. We expect all employees, contractors, agents, and suppliers to uphold this commitment and to act consistently with our values and policies at all times.
Where we identify any breach or suspected breach of this policy, we will take immediate and appropriate action. This may include suspending or terminating commercial relationships, reporting concerns to relevant authorities, and supporting remediation for affected individuals where possible and appropriate.
Supply Chain Management and Supplier Audits
Our supply chain includes providers of storage equipment, maintenance services, construction and fit out contractors, utilities, cleaning services, security services, and office supplies. We understand that risks may arise at multiple tiers of the supply chain, including where we have no direct contractual relationship. To address these risks, Storage Longford undertakes proportionate and risk-based supplier due diligence before entering into or renewing contracts.
We seek to work with suppliers that share our commitment to ethical conduct and respect for human rights. Where appropriate, we communicate our expectations through contractual terms, supplier guidelines and ongoing dialogue. We may conduct supplier audits or assessments, focusing on higher risk categories, such as labour-intensive services, subcontracted work, or suppliers operating in sectors or regions with known modern slavery risks.
These audits and assessments may include site visits, review of labour practices, verification of identification and right to work documents, checks on wage and working hour records, and discussions with management and workers. Where areas for improvement are identified, we may develop action plans with suppliers and monitor progress. If a supplier is unwilling or unable to meet our standards within an agreed timeframe, we will consider appropriate steps up to and including ending the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Raising Concerns
Storage Longford encourages all employees, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to report any concerns relating to modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Concerns may include suspected forced labour, exploitation, unsafe working or living conditions, retention of identity documents, or any indication that individuals are not working freely and voluntarily.
Reports can be made through established internal reporting channels or directly to line managers or senior management. We will treat all reports seriously and sensitively, and we aim to investigate promptly and fairly. Where requested and reasonably practicable, we will seek to protect the confidentiality of individuals who raise concerns in good faith. Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern honestly, even if it is not substantiated, is strictly prohibited.
Training, Awareness and Continuous Improvement
Storage Longford is committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks among our employees and key suppliers. We provide relevant information and training to those involved in procurement, contract management, and site operations to help them identify potential indicators of modern slavery and understand how to respond appropriately.
We regularly review our policies and procedures to strengthen our approach to modern slavery risk management. This includes reviewing our supplier onboarding processes, contract terms, and audit practices to ensure they remain effective and reflect evolving best practice and legal requirements.
Annual Review and Governance
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually by the senior management of Storage Longford. The review considers any incidents reported, findings from supplier audits, developments in legislation, and feedback from employees and stakeholders. Where necessary, we update our policies, procedures, and training programmes to enhance our controls and address emerging risks.
The statement represents Storage Longford’s ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our business. We will continue to develop and refine our approach, work collaboratively with our suppliers and partners, and promote transparency and accountability throughout our operations and supply chains.
